Meet Barbara!
She has her degree as a Certified Dietary Manager & Resident Assessment Coordinator Certified, QAPI Certified Professional. She was employed for many years with the State of Iowa Long Term Care and CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) as the MDS/OASIS Automation Education Coordinator/Trainer for the State of Iowa/Iowa Foundation for Medical Care.
She is the Program Coordinator & Adjunct instructor with Des Moines Area community college, Dietary Manager Specialist Certification Program, helping educate, foster, and promote new CDM’s into our care communities.
Barbara owns her own Healthcare Consulting company, Aging Rules, authoring manuals, writing articles/blogs, and providing educational sessions/ trainings throughout the US. She has consulted for many years with ANFP (Association for Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals) as their education /Regulatory Outreach Consultant with her current focus on all things regulatory as well as helping promote the CDM/CFPP credentials and ANFP as the experts in nutrition & foodservice. She enjoys life in Iowa with her husband, 2 Orange Tabby's Cheddar and Colby and you can find her snuggled in with a good cup of coffee, chocolates, a cozy mystery and her wonderful knitting projects! Her life’s mantra is Aging Rules with quality over quantity, live it up!
